time for discussion~
Several years ago, Christina, a 28-year-old woman, was diagnosed with cancer, which needed to be treated with chemotherapy. She was told that she would be unable to conceive after the chemotherapy treatment. So, using sperm from her partner Darren, she was given IVF treatment, and the embryos were then frozen, until Christina was well enough to have the child.
However, shortly after her treatment was completed, Darren left Christina for another woman. Christina is now applying to the courts for the right to have the child. However, Darren says he doesn't want to have a child with Christina anymore. He wants the embryos to be destroyed so that he has nothing to do with Christina in any way.
QUESTIONS:
Should Christina be allowed to have the child?
Is Darren's request justified?
What would you do if you are Christina?
What would you do if you are Darren?
Overall, what do you think is the best solution for this situation?
