Several years ago, Christina, a 28-year-old woman, was diagnosed with cancer, which needed to be treated with chemotherapy. She was told that she would be unable to conceive after the chemotherapy treatment. So, using sperm from her partner Darren, she was given IVF treatment, and the embryos were then frozen, until Christina was well enough to have the child.
However, shortly after her treatment was completed, Darren left Christina for another woman. Christina is now applying to the courts for the right to have the child. However, Darren says he doesn't want to have a child with Christina anymore. He wants the embryos to be destroyed so that he has nothing to do with Christina in any way.

In my opinion, Christina shouldn't be allowed to have the child, as the short story told that she's already 28 year old woman, It's putting her own life at risk if she allowed to give birth. Furthermore, she diagnosed with cancer before, I would only agree she should be allowed to have the child unless she get positive suggestion and advice from doctor.
ReplyDeleteDarren's request is justified, because the sperm is consider as HIS. he got his own right to decide either he wants the embryo to be destroyed or not to.
If I'm Christina, I would have a talk with Darren. Try to let him know what's the situation I'm facing, try to ask him to be understanding, tell him how hard I wish to get a baby although that it might be a bit coward, but I can't think about other better solution.
If I'm Darren, I would listen to what Christina though. Try not to be too stubborn to avoid from putting the case on court.
Overall, I'm still support that having a good talks to each other is the best solution to settle down the case, as what we know, good talk bring good output, right?
